KitchenNmbrs, a trade name of KitchenNmbrs B.V., uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and app. This Cookie Policy transparently explains which cookies we use, why, for how long, and how you can manage your preferences. We process personal data via cookies solely in accordance with the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer, tablet, or smartphone by a website. They allow a website to remember information about your visit and behaviour, so that the service can function correctly and in a personalised manner.

We distinguish the following types:

• Session cookies: temporary cookies that are deleted as soon as you close your browser.
• Persistent cookies: remain on your device until the set expiry date or until you delete them manually.
• First-party cookies: placed by kitchennmbrs.app itself.
• Third-party cookies: placed by external services loaded on our website (such as Google Analytics).

2. Which cookies do we use?

We use a limited number of cookies, divided into two categories: necessary cookies (no consent required) and analytical cookies (only after your cookie consent). We do not use marketing or tracking cookies.

3. Necessary cookies

Necessary cookies are essential for the correct functioning of the website and the app. They provide session management, security (CSRF protection), authentication, and language preference. Without these cookies, logging in and using the service is not possible.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) in conjunction with Art. 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act (now: Digital Government Act / ePrivacy Directive) — for strictly necessary cookies, no consent is required.

4. Analytical cookies (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to gain insight into the use of our website. GA4 places cookies (_ga, _ga_*, _gid) that collect anonymised data about page visits, navigation patterns, and technical device information.

We apply the following privacy-protective settings in GA4:

• IP anonymisation: IP addresses are anonymised prior to storage — we never see the full IP address;
• Consent Mode: GA4 is activated exclusively after you have given consent via our cookie consent banner;
• No Google Ads integration: we do not link GA4 to advertising programmes;
• Data retention: we apply the shortest available retention period (14 months) in GA4.

Google LLC is established in the United States. Transfer of data to Google takes place on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission. Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You may withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings in the footer.

5. Marketing and tracking cookies

KitchenNmbrs does not use marketing or tracking cookies. We do not place cookies for advertising purposes, retargeting, or profiling. We do not share user data with advertising networks. We have no social media plug-ins (such as Facebook Like buttons or Instagram widgets) on our website.

6. Third-party cookies

In addition to our own cookies, cookies may be placed by third parties when specific features are used:

• Mollie B.V. (payment provider, Netherlands/EU): during checkout, technical session cookies may be placed for secure payment processing. These cookies are necessary for the transaction and are deleted upon completion of the payment session. Mollie privacy policy: mollie.com/nl/privacy.
• Google LLC (Analytics, where consent has been given): see article 4.

We have limited control over third-party cookies. Please consult their respective privacy policies for further information.

7. Mobile app — similar technologies

The KitchenNmbrs mobile app (iOS/Android) does not use traditional cookies, but employs similar technologies for the operation of the app:

• Local storage (device storage): app settings, language preferences, and cached user data are stored locally on your device — not shared with third parties;
• Session tokens (JWT): a secure authentication token to keep you logged in, stored in the secure keystore of the device;
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token: an anonymous device identification token from Google Firebase for delivering push notifications (opt-in, can be disabled via app settings).

These technologies are necessary for the core functionality of the app and do not require separate consent where they are strictly functional. Push notifications (FCM) are opt-in and can be withdrawn via the notification settings of your device.

8. Managing cookie consent

8.1 Via our cookie consent banner

On your first visit to our website, we display a cookie consent banner. You may choose:

• Accept all: necessary and analytical cookies are activated;
• Necessary only: only strictly necessary cookies are used.

You may change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of our website.

8.2 Via browser settings

You may also manage cookies via your browser settings:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

⚠️ Please note: if you block all cookies (including necessary cookies), you will not be able to log in to KitchenNmbrs and core functions of the service will no longer work.

8.3 Do Not Track (DNT)

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. We already do not place marketing or tracking cookies by default, and use our Consent Mode for GA4 to respect DNT signals.

8.4 Google Analytics opt-out

You can block Google Analytics entirely via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on provided by Google.

9. Retention periods

An overview of the retention periods of our cookies (see also the full table in article 2):

• Session cookies (kitchennmbrs_session, XSRF-TOKEN): deleted as soon as you close your browser.
• "Stay logged in" (remember_web_*): a maximum of 30 days after the last activity.
• Language preference (locale): 1 year.
• Cookie consent (cookie_consent): 1 year — after which we will request your choice again.
• Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): 2 years (industry standard; shortest available setting in GA4).
• Google Analytics session (_gid): 24 hours.

10. Changes

10.1  KitchenNmbrs reserves the right to amend this Cookie Policy at any time, for example upon the addition of new cookies or changes in legislation.

10.2  In the event of material changes, we will inform you via a prominent notice on the website or by email. The effective date is always stated at the top of this policy.

10.3  We recommend that you consult this policy periodically. Continued use of the service following an update shall constitute acceptance of the amended version.
